SAM ZERI

A GREAT SOUL

Proud Persian Canadian, born; Saman Montazeri in 1993 in Toronto, Canada, son of Persian immigrant parents Saeed and Susan and brother to Sahar. His cultural identity has always been a big part of who he is.

Raised in communities where he was often deemed a minority – he learned early that it is essential to understand one's roots. Post 9/11, he was often scrutinized for his ethnicity by those who would unjustly associate Persian people with any terrorism that involved the Middle East. This initially made him ashamed of his legacy culture until he matured and learned to understand his place in the world.

Sam Zeri is an artist in touch with where he comes from and who he is, which comes across in his emotive and soulful lyrics and music.

“People will see you as lesser if you allow them to.”

A GREAT HOOK

From a childhood filled with loud music and dancing, where rhythm was a necessity, evolved Hip Hop artist 5AM. Hip Hop gave a voice to this young man to share his frustrations and anger as well as his aspirations and dreams by becoming very early in life a gifted lyricist who also knew how to energize and make people move to his rhythms and beats.

5 knows a great hook, whether through his music or in the boxing ring where he can be found in his spare time - sparring, coaching, and training.

“This artist is a force in the studio, on the stage and, in his off times, in the ring.”
